What to Bring on Test Day

1. Test Admission Ticket

Once registered, you will be emailed a Test Admission Ticket.

Your Test Admission Ticket contains two parts – the admission ticket and your receipt. Bring both parts to the test centre on the day of testing – the Supervisor will separate the ticket into the two parts and will keep the upper portion of the Test Admission Ticket. The Supervisor will give you the lower portion as a receipt for your records.

Note: Your Test Admission Ticket contains a Registration Number (REG#) and a Personal Identification Number (PIN). Make a copy of your REG# and PIN and keep them in a safe place. You will need your REG# and PIN if you wish to view your test scores online.

2. Passport-Type Photo

On the day of the test, bring one recent (taken within the last six months) passport-type photo of yourself. Ensure that you print your name and registration number of the back of this photo. Your photo must be attached to your Test Admission Ticket on the space indicated on your ticket. Your photo will be kept on file at the LPI Office.

Acceptable Passport-Type Photo Specifications

Recent black and white, or color original photo (taken within the last six months) One color background of photo quality paper Head and shoulder shot, face square to camera Neutral expression Glasses acceptable if eyes are visible Head covers for religious purposes acceptable (face must be completely visible) Photo size should be no larger than 5 x 7 cm and no smaller than 3 x 3 cm

Unacceptable Photos

All photocopies photo proofs Non-photo quality paper Use of sunglasses Use of hats or head coverings (includes graduation photos) Cut-out, part of a group shot, or part of any other individual in photo Questionable photo likeness

*If you arrive at the LPI sitting without a photo, you will not be allowed to write the test.

Note: If the LPI Office determines that the photo does not meet the specifications, your test will not be marked until you provide an acceptable photo and a $15.00 CAD + tax administration fee.

3. Valid Photo Identification

To be acceptable, your identification must be original, valid, and have your full name as it appears on your Test Admission Ticket.

Acceptable photo identification include:

passport driver’s license national identification card provincial identification card post-secondary school student identification card

Note: High school students registered for public sittings who have only Transit “Go Cards” as identification must contact the LPI Office for information about acceptable supporting identification.
