Details of Systems Improvements

On February 1, 2018, there will be improvements made to the LPI website, as well as some changes to what is required on test day. Please see below for an outline of these improvements.


Your LPI Account

All test takers will now be required to create an LPI Account before they can register for a test. Your LPI Account will allow you to do the following:

  • Register for a test
  • View information about upcoming tests
  • Purchase study materials
  • View test scores
  • Transfer or cancel a test registration
  • Request a re-evaluation of your test
  • Order score reports
  • Add and remove institutions which you want to send your scores to
  • Update your account information

If you had previously taken the LPI Test, your LPI Account will be automatically created under the same email address that you had previously used. You may access this account as of February 1, 2018. If you are signing in to your LPI Account for the first time, you will need to click Forgot your password? on the sign-in page and follow the prompted steps.


Registering for tests

The online registration pages have also been updated and improved. If you had previously registered for an LPI Test, you will find that the actual registration process is very similar to the previous system.

One of the main changes is that test takers will now be required to upload their photo during registration. This photo will be used in several ways:

  • On the day of the test, for test centre staff to verify your identity.
  • After your test, for the institutions receiving your scores to verify your identity.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your photo matches your likeness. Once your photo is submitted during online registration, the LPI office will review it to see if the photo meets our requirements. If it does, your registration will be approved, and you will receive a test confirmation email confirming your registration.

If the submitted photo does not meet our requirements, you will be notified by email. Please note that your registration is only approved after your photo has been verified by the LPI office. You can check the status of your registration in your LPI Account; if it says “Pending Approval” under your registration number, your photo has not yet been approved. Please check your email to see if we have sent you a request for a new photo.


On Test Day

Previously, all test takers were required to print and bring a copy of their test admission ticket, and also bring a physical photo of themselves to attach to the ticket.

As of February 24, 2018, both of these requirements will be removed. Test takers will only be required to bring the piece of identification that they used to register with online, as well as a copy of their test confirmation email.
