Your registration is not yet complete, as your photo has not yet been reviewed by the LPI Office or your photo does not meet our requirements. All uploaded photos will be reviewed within two business days. If the submitted photo does not meet our requirements, you will be notified by email.
If your photo has been approved, you will receive a test confirmation email, and your registration will no longer show the words “Pending Approval”.
You do not need to show your test confirmation email to be allowed to take the LPI test; you only need to present a valid piece of identification. However, you may want to refer to it later, so you can print a copy of your test confirmation email or keep a digital copy ready on your smartphone.
To report a test security issue, please visit our Test Security page.
There is no pass or fail on the LPI Test. It is recommended that you contact the institution(s) to which you are applying, to see what their English language requirements are.
For complete information on scoring, see Scores.
You can apply for a re-evaluation of your LPI Test within 6 weeks of the test date. You must pay a re-evaluation fee at the time of your application. The amount of the fee will depend on which components of the test you would like to have re-evaluated. If the LPI level changes for any component that has been re-evaluated, the re-evaluation fee for that component will be refunded. Please note that there is a limit of one re-evaluation for any particular component of the test. Re-evaluation requests are final sale, and cannot be cancelled once the request has been submitted.
Test takers who apply for a re-evaluation of their test results will be notified of the results of the re-evaluation in approximately two weeks of submitting of their application and paying the re-evaluation fee.
To make a re-evaluation request, sign in to your LPI Account.
The length of time that your scores are valid is determined by the policies of each individual institution. Contact institutions directly for this information.
For information on obtaining your test scores, see Scores.
Your results may be sent to five institutions free of charge. Please provide the names of your preferred institutions during registration. These institutions can be updated or removed at any time in your LPI Account up to four days before your test.
If you need to request additional score reports after your test date, they can be ordered through your LPI Account at a cost of $20.00 each.
Please note, your LPI Score Report can be viewed in your LPI Account. Official Score Reports will not be mailed directly to you. Official Score Reports will only be mailed to academic or professional institutions.
