LPI Private Sittings

You may be eligible for an LPI private sitting if you reside in an area within Canada that does not have scheduled LPI public sittings. To find out if you are eligible for an LPI private sitting, please make an online request for a private sitting at least 30 calendar days prior to your planned test date. Your request will be processed within 3 to 4 business days. It is the test taker’s responsibility to locate a supervisor for their LPI private sitting. The supervisor can either be a high school or college principal/vice-principal, university professor/instructor, or a counsellor from guidance or student services. The supervisor cannot be involved with admissions or academic advising. If the supervisor charges a fee for their services, it is the test taker’s responsibility to pay for these fees.

If you are found to be eligible for a private sitting, you will receive the LPI Private Sitting Application via email. The completed application must be submitted to the LPI Office by email within seven calendar days of the application’s delivery. The LPI Private Sitting Application will then be reviewed by the LPI Office. If the application is approved, you will receive instructions on how to set up your LPI Account and complete your test registration.

  • Simply submitting an LPI private sitting application does not guarantee that your private sitting will be approved.
  • Applications that are not accompanied by all the necessary supporting documentation by the 7-calendar-day deadline will not be processed.
  • If you require special accommodations for your LPI Test, you will be required to apply for a private sitting. No provisions are provided for special accommodations at LPI public sittings. Please click here for information on how to request special accommodations.
